Where is my information stored?/Do you collect any information?

Every bit of information you create will be stored inside your device, nowhere else. We do not or will ever collect any information from your device.

Kid-Capsule is not a social network. Nobody else will have access to your information unless you explicitly share it with them through email or Facebook.

After you have saved a child's profile or an event, you may always go back and edit every field. Check out our Help for more details.

How can I backup and recover my data?

Currently there is no explicit iTunes file share/backup functionality within the app. The best way to safely store your Kid-Capsule data is by conducting a full device backup. All the data, photos and videos from Kid-Capsule will be contained in the backup.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: When you sync an app to iTunes it will not transfer data from any app. The only way to have the actual data transferred is to do a device backup.

Use these steps to manually back up your iOS device using iTunes:

  1. Connect your iOS device to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed
  2. Select your iOS device in iTunes under Devices
  3. Right-click (or Control-click) the device and select Back Up

iOS device backups preserve your settings, the Camera Roll (or Saved Pictures), and other important data.

To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:

  1. Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
  2. If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup

In order to keep email size down and maintain good performance, photos that are attached to the shared KCA files are reduced to 1250px on the longest dimension.

Facebook

Why do you need Facebook authorizations?

We need permission from you to post updates to your Wall and photos to Albums. Kid-Capsule will only post photos to a specially dedicated album that will be created by default in your Facebook account.

We need access to your feed in order to create the correct links inside the Wall updates. If you post an event without a photo, the post will link back to your Wall. If you post an event with a photo, the post will link to the uploaded image inside the album.

We do not read or collect any information from your Facebook account.

Can I post videos to Facebook?

Facebook video uploads will be supported in future releases.

Do you collect information from my Facebook account?

We do not read or collect any information from your Facebook account.

Why do I see two posts on my Wall when I send a photo?

One post is dedicated to the Event Announcement and the other one is simply the photo post which will also show on your feed.

The Event Announcement has a thumbnail on the left side that will link back to the photo associated to the event because sometimes when you post multiple photos to Facebook they will not appear at the top and people might miss them.

Why do you need Facebook offline access?

Without this permission your Facebook session will constantly expire, requiring you to have to login ever so often if you wish to post to your wall.

Once you authorize for offline access, the session will not expire constantly as it did in versions prior to 1.2.
