“Happiness quite unshared can scarcely be called happiness; it has no taste.” – Charlotte Brontë
Kid-Capsule has 3 ways of sharing your family photos, memories, milestones and events:
All three methods have the option of attaching a photo to go along with it. Each photo will be highlighted with a scrapbook style background and a vellum style tag with the event details written on it.
As of Version 1.2 there are 2 backgrounds to choose from: Classic and Winter. But get ready for version 1.2.1 of Kid-Capsule, it will have 3 new backgrounds to complete the seasons and it will offer an easier way to select the background for your image.
This is how easy it is:
Every event is equipped with a sharing button: ![]()
Once you tap the sharing button you will have 3 sharing options as described above:

If you decide to share a photograph with your event, you will be presented with the event’s image gallery:

As of version 1.2 you will have the option of selecting the classic green background and a winter wonderland background:

Kid-Capsule then works its magic and you have a beautiful scrapbook style layout for sharing your event:

This is one of my all time favorite quotes and it’s very fitting for this post.
Kid-Capsule has a comprehensive collection of categories under which you save your memories and events. We believe it helps guide and inspire parents along the way. One such category is “Vivid Imagination” and it’s one I use quite often. Children have amazing minds so it’s important to document them in their life story, it just might help create a spark of inspiration at some point in time, right?
As a bonus, each category is equipped with several sub-categories. In “Vivid Imagination” we have “Drawings”. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved to doodle. I’ve often wondered what life and adventures those “masterpieces”, ahem, had in my mind. Now, my little girl won’t have to wonder. Every time she’s enthralled in a drawing, I always ask her about it, snap a picture and save the details in Kid-Capsule.
Here’s a chance to document your little one’s imagination in action. Print this free Ellie fill in the blank coloring page at the bottom of this post on a standard letter sized sheet of paper. Ask them to replace the pencil she usually carries around with whatever they want. Then just sit back and be mesmerized by what they come up with. Don’t forget to save it in your Kid-Capsule!
If you would like to share their creations, go to our Facebook page and post them in the comments.
Have fun!

One of the features we are most excited about in Version 1.2 is the ability to share events with other Kid-Capsule users. Now grandma and grandpa won’t miss a thing. They will have their very own copy of all the priceless moments you have saved. Kid-Capsule will package your event in a file which will be sent via email and can then be imported by the recipient into their own device.
This is how it works:
As usual, tap the
button from your event and you will have the option of sharing your event through email, Facebook or Kid-Capsule.

You will have the option of sharing any type of media via email, as long as you have linked photos and videos to your event.
Tapping photo or video will open the appropriate gallery and prepare the media that will be attached to your message and exported to a special kca file.

Kid-Capsule will package your event in a file which will be sent via email.

After sending your email you will return to your event screen.
When you receive a shared event from a Kid-Capsule user your email will have a kca file attached to it. You will easily recognize it because you will see the Kid-Capsule logo on the attachment while viewing it on your device.
Tapping on the file will prompt you to open it in Kid-Capsule.

Once you open the file, Kid-Capsule will launch and you will be presented with the Event Import Wizard.
The wizard will guide you through the steps to import the event.

Once you finish and the event has been imported, you will be presented with a success message. The imported event will be a replica of the event that the sender has on her device including the child’s profile, the place (together with coordinates if applicable) and the media files that were attached.

I have found it very interesting in speaking to Kid-Capsule users that different people have different ways of using the app.
I will be posting a couple of ways I love to use Kid-Capsule but I also want to hear from you and the great ways you choose to use the app and interpret the different categories. The goal is to inspire other people to keep track of the amazing moments they share with their kids.

If you would like to share your ways of using Kid-Capsule go to our Contact section and drop us a line. We will publish your ideas for others to enjoy!
Hello everyone, we are very excited to announce that the first version of Kid-Capsule is finally available on the App Store!
Kid-Capsule is an event journaling app for iPhone® or iPod Touch®. It helps you record and relive your child’s adventures in growing up through journaling, photos and movies. It’s meant for all stages in your child’s life, from when they’re born, the trials of potty training, school, sports, Ph.D., wedding, you name it.
This project was born from a love of preserving memories, scrapbooking, photography and of course software development.
I am a mommy to a 2 year old, a sister to a 15 year old, a wife, a photographer, an iPhone addict and a computer scientist and this was the perfect oportunity to put all those things together in a great package.
To celebrate our launch we are having a promotional sale this week until Monday June 13th, you can download the app for ¢99 down from it’s original price of $2.99!
We have many things on the horizon so stay tuned!
