    Our favorite things on 4th of July are to attend our local fireworks celebration, 4thFest, which is the largest volunteer run fireworks display in the country. There’s plenty to do all day with multiple stages, music, food, carnival rides, and more.

    Hi! I am a teacher and summer is a time to relax and rejuvenate for me. I love to sit down to read the novels I stacked up during the school year. I also make it a point to spend some time organizing my house and do some redecorating.

    Surprisingly, even with extreme noise sensitivity in both of my boys, they LOVE fireworks on the 4th of July. Today we also HAD to go buy sparklers, tanks, poppers and smoke bombs, and my oldest is so excited that he’s having trouble waiting to set them off until his younger brother and dad get home. Thankfully, he has golf practice shortly, which will take up a lot of the afternoon.

    I just love hanging out with family by the lake. We watch the fireworks and the boat parade on the lake at night. Really cool. My dad is no longer alive and this was one of his favorite holidays. He was a police officer and an Army MP. $th of July always makes me think of him. :-)

    My favorite 4th of July activities when I was a little girl were neighborhood BBQ’s. Every family would bring a dish to share, the kids would,swim, the adults would relax, and everyone had a great time! We would watch firework from the lawn and it was always my favorite day of the year! Times have changed and my kids do not have the same experiences.     My favorite Fourth of July activities are spending the day with family, going to the parade and ending the day with the fireworks display. We aren’t always near family for the 4th or near a body of water to swim, but wherever we have been stationed in the world we have had fireworks!! In Germany we would go to the German-American festival, BBQ then go to back to the festival to see the fireworks.

    We have been going to a friend’s house for a party for years!! It started out as just a few families have some good ol’ fashioned fun on the 4th, but last year for the 10th annual party there were nearly 200 people there, all with matching tshirts and koozies! The kids swim, jump on the tramp, and enjoy a waterslide, while the adults enjoy a shrimp boil and potluck, music and great laughs! The evening is rounded out with a bike parade by the kiddos and hundreds of sparklers. Look forward to it every year!!!
